Planet Nine ("we", "us") is operated by Alpine Lake Systems LLC. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit planetnine.world.

What we collect

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to measure aggregate, anonymous usage of the site. Google Analytics automatically collects information such as:

• Pages visited and time spent
• Browser type, device type, and operating system
• Approximate geographic location (country/region, derived from IP — IP addresses are not stored by us)

Visitor counter

We display a unique-visitor counter and an optional "🔥 appreciate" button. To count uniqueness, we hash a truncated form of your IP address (last octet zeroed for IPv4, last 80 bits zeroed for IPv6) with a server-side salt. The result cannot be reversed to your IP. We never store the IP itself.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets its own cookies. We additionally set a single cookie (planetnine_optout) when you opt out using the button below.

Opt out

If you don't want your visit counted in our visitor / fire totals, click below. We'll remove your hashed entry from our database and set a cookie so future visits aren't counted either.
